On Saturday May 18th the Harrison Lord in Brighouse is delighted to open a exhibition of new original paintings and prints by one of Yorkshire’s favourite artists Danny Abrahams
Come and see these wonderfully uplifting paintings, always vibrant and witty, convivial and quirky.
Steven Lord, gallery owner said “I am delighted that Brighouse artist Danny Abrahams has created such a great new body of work. His work is uplifting and romantic. Danny has developed a large following of collectors and I look forward to showing people round the new show.”
Also, see NEW Work by top artists including Clare Haley, Catherine McGrath, Chris Pepper, Sam Mortimer and many more.
Roger celebrates aspects of his hometown (Brighouse, West Yorkshire) in much of his work. Familiar scenes depict people, shop fronts, pubs and other buildings in a style which demonstrates a flair and enthusiasm for the subject which is uniquely his own.
The exhibition also includes artwork inspired by Peter Brook, the late Pennine Landscape Painter whom Roger befriended after writing a song about the famous local artist.
Roger considers his music and artwork to be a real labour of love: “I like to draw and paint pictures which end up looking a bit like drawings, a bit like prints and a bit like paintings all at the same time. You could say the style is quite simplistic, almost childlike and I’d agree. The artwork, like my music, is ultimately celebratory and intended to inspire, inform and entertain.”
Exhibitions are free to enter.
