The exhibition highlights the quality of artists based in the North of England. Taking over a year in the planning this blockbuster show has been carefully curated by the gallery to bring together over 70 new paintings in contrasting styles from 10 northern artists.
Other artists featured in the Northern Powerhouse show include Stephen Todd, Adrienne French, Rachel Grant, Paula Dunn, Catherine McGrath, Francesca Roberts and Barbara Renton Wood. New to the gallery artists include Kezy Feaster and Sue Ford.
For those who don’t already know, Paul Talbot-Greaves is a prolific landscape painter and writer from the North of England. He is an author of many art books and regularly lectures on painting technique all over the UK and Europe.
Catherine McGrath focusses on the industrial landscapes of Nothern England with work depicting the mills and terrace houses.
Stephen Todd is famous for his Humber Estuary work whilst Kezy Feaster, Francesca Roberts and Sue Ford’s work shows the scenic uplands of the Dales and North Yorks Moors. Paula Dunn captures the drama of the Lake District. Rachel Grant is a specialist in still life work.
Barbara Renton Wood has been inspired by her recent trips to London and Adrienne French turns Yorkshire scenes into abstract landscapes.
