Matt Turner, born in 1984 in Cambridge, moved to Brighouse at the age of one where he has lived ever since. He was always keen on art from a young age and enjoyed all aspects of it through his school years. However, unfortunately, after entering the working world art took the back seat as it does for so many. He continued to paint but not as much as he’d have liked, until now. He is still working designing kitchens but now spend as much time as possible painting.
His preferred mediums are acrylics and watercolours, sometimes mixing the two in paintings.
“I am truly inspired by the Yorkshire scenery whether it’s rugged wind swept moorland or vast views that force you to stop and be humbled. At every opportunity I’m out immersing myself in what Yorkshire has to offer and I’m constantly inspired by the scenery around me. Yorkshire has everything I could ever need and so is the focus of my work.”
