The inspiration for Louise Rawlings popular park life paintings comes from observations of life on her daily morning walk with Alfie, her English Setter. She enjoys observing and capturing the characters she watches and meets every day in walks across the park.
One of her favourite subjects is the imaginary figure “Miss Spotty Wellies” shown working on her farm in the countryside. We are currently exhibiting her rare originals from this series.
“Since graduating in the early nineties with a degree in illustration, I have enjoyed a long and varied career as a freelance illustrator, working in areas such as greeting cards, calendars, ceramics, fine art and children’s books. I can be inspired by anything from a small magazine cutting to a walk in the park. Although I live in Sutton Coldfield one of my favourite subjects to paint is our lovely British countryside.”
Louise’s work is widely published on greetings cards and art prints.
