Sheryl Roberts was born in Leeds in 1971, studying at Jacob Kramer School of Art, and then graduating from Leeds Metropolitan University. Several years of teaching in schools and colleges led her in 2001, to become a full time artist – working from her studio in Leeds.
Sheryl’s perfected and crafted style uses intense pigment oils and acrylics. Sheryl uses many techniques including both brush and pallet knives to build up layers creating depth and vibrancy to each powerful piece.
Sheryl’s latest body of work is directly inspired by the changing chaotic skies in imaginary lands – a place she finds mysteriously fascinating.
‘My work is all about capturing the moment. The time when the sky makes contact with the land producing striking white light to allow the viewer to look through to another world. I want to invite you in to this new place of being, a place to explore to inner beauty of your imagination.A place that evokes emotion as reflective light seems to divide light in every direction’
Sheryl’s work has been much acclaimed through exhibition and private commission throughout the UK and Europe.
